What the science says

According to the American Psychological Association (2023), the adolescent brain is particularly sensitive to social rewards and comparison with peers. And according to the U.S. Surgeon General's advisory (2023), current evidence does not allow the conclusion that social media is sufficiently safe for children and adolescents — especially as a large share of them use it very frequently, sometimes almost constantly.

Problematic use is the bigger concern
